Why we don't promise FPS numbers

Promising specific FPS gains is selling smoke. Every PC is different. Here's what we offer instead.

"We'll boost your FPS by 30%"

It's a phrase you see on many sites offering PC optimization services. A specific number, a clear promise: after coming through here, your game will run 30% faster. Or 50%. Or double.

It sounds good. It's easy to understand, easy to sell, and easy to evaluate. The problem is that it's impossible to guarantee.

Why no single number works for every PC

Your PC's performance depends on a combination of factors that is unique to each machine:

Changing any of these variables changes the result. A tweak that gives 20 extra FPS on one machine might give 3 on another, or even worsen performance if the bottleneck is somewhere else.

The problem with averages

When someone says "my clients gain 30% FPS on average", that average doesn't mean what it seems. It can include machines that gained 80% because they had a serious problem, and machines that gained 5% because they were already doing fine.

Your machine isn't an average. It's a specific system with a specific configuration. The question isn't how much others gain — it's what's happening on yours and what can be improved.

And there's an additional trap: FPS are the most visible metric, but not always the most relevant. You can gain 0 extra FPS and feel a massive improvement if what was fixed was frametime variation or input lag.

What we offer instead of a promise

What we do in every LATENT session is measure. Before touching anything, we diagnose your machine with professional tools and explain exactly what's happening:

After the diagnosis, we tell you what can be improved and what can't. No made-up numbers. If your machine is already performing well, we tell you — and we don't charge you for an optimization you don't need.

Measure before, measure after

What we do is measure before and after every adjustment. Not to give you a marketing number, but so you can see the real change on your specific machine.

A before-and-after measured on your PC, with your game, in your configuration. Not a screenshot from another machine or a generic percentage. Real data from your system.

If the change doesn't show in the metrics, we don't claim it does. If it shows but not in FPS, we explain where — frametime, input lag, stability.

Honesty isn't a sales pitch — it's how we work

There's a part of this industry that runs on inflated expectations: impossible numbers, cherry-picked screenshots, comparisons that don't reflect your machine. It works short-term, but it breeds distrust.

LATENT chooses a different path: telling you exactly what we see, what we can do, and what we can't. Before you pay, before we touch anything.

If you prefer a service that promises a specific FPS number, we understand. But if you'd rather know what's going on with your PC and have it explained with data, that's what we do.
